My Taiwan Trip Day 1

The time has come for my Taiwan trip.

The best thing is I don't have to planned anything for this trip because my girlfriend is in charge of it.

All I had to do was to find the right bus, MRT stops to get to our destinations...

There will be 3 of us in this trip, Me, my GF and our friend Jinz.

To start off, what is better that a photo at the new KLIA 2.

It is my first time there and let me tell you this, it is huge...

Walking from from the check in counter to departure gates will take a long time.

My taxi driver said the distance is more than 1 KM...

My GF and Me

3 of us

Had breakfast at Johnny Rocket

Nothing much to say about the flight  as I was ZZZzzzz... most of the time....

So here we are arriving at Taoyuan International Airport..

Our ride to our Minsu (homestay)

We bought the taxi voucher at the Airport and the cost was 1300NT (rm130)

It is costly but we didn't want to tire ourselves by taking the bus and MRT... (we got $$$ mah...)

Our driver's name was Taco Lo.

Very decent guy, smart and shy and definitely a family man because I saw a photo of himand his family on the smartphone he placed on the car's dashboard.

He told us that if we hire him for our airport transfer when we want to head back to Malaysia, he will give a discount.

He also provide daily rental for groups who are travelling...
here is his contact for those who wants to rent a city tour.
By the way, he drives a MPV, 7 seater.

After a 45 minutes drive, we arrive at Xi Men Ding, the most happening place in Taipei...

And our Minsu is right opposite the Famous Ah Zhong Mian Xian
Long line @ around 4pm

The name of our Minsu is 365 Homestay.

It is basically a 1 bedroom apartment located apposite the street on the higher floors.

Here is how our minsu look like:

The cost of this minsu is 1980 TWD a night.
Considering it to be at the heart of Xi Men Ding and 5 minutes walk to Ximen LRT, I would say it is rather affordable.
Besides, 3 of us is sharing the cost.
For this type of minsu, you will need to contact the person in charge when you reach there.
They will then come and meet you and lead you to your minsu.
They give you the keys, you pay the whole amount and thats it.
You just need to leave the keys and check out.
They do come and clean the room.
We stayed for 6 nights and they came and clean our room once.

Once we settled in, we went out straight away to Jay Chou's restaurant Mr. J restaurant near Taipei 101.
We took a taxi and reach within 10 minutes...

Aglio oglio

Risotto (not nice)

Pesto Spaghetti with Squid & Caviar

Overall, the food there is just so-so only but the surrounding or ambience in the restaurant is nice.
It has high ceiling and it plays Jay Chou's music all day long...

Price wise, our bill was over 1000TWD.

After dinner, we took a walk from the restaurant to Taipei 101.

We decided just to drop by and take some photos.
We didn't want to waste money going up the tower...
After around 10 minutes of walking...

Walla.....

After our short photo session, we took the MRT back to Xi Men Ding.

Lots of people at Xi Men Ding

Time for Mu Gua Nai Cha- papaya milk tea

I finish one whole cup

For supper, we look for Simon Tenpura

With that, we conclude our first day in Taiwan.

Yours sincerely,
