Today, we are heading to the city of Taichung where we will drop by at Puli township before heading to the famous Sun Moon Lake in Nantou district to spend the night
empty streets |
There are various ways to head to Taichung and we chose the High Speed Railway.
We never sit in a high speed train before, so we decided to try it.
The tickets for 3 person is around 2200 TWD.
Pretty costly but it will only take us 1 hour to get to the Taichung station.
From my knowledge, a bus ride would take like 3 hours plus.
To take the High Speed Train, just head to Taipei Main Station via MRT and look for HSR. ( High Speed Railway)
Face all swollen as we wait for the MRT |
We bought non reserve seats.. |
For non reserve, passengers will be advise to seat at dedicate carriages.
Like from carriage number 9 - 12.

After breakfast, we headed to Puli Winery..
In fact, there is nothing much to do at Puli but my GF found like 5 nice things to eat here.
unfortunately, we were too early... It is around 9am and most shops won't start business untill around 11am...
a bit of artistic photography |
We spent like 15 minutes in there.... kinda boring unless you really like chinese wine.
So, time to makan again.
Puli is famous for their 'mee hoon', so we had to try it.
Dry mee hoon |
Soup Mee hoon |
Both was delicious but I preferred the soup because the taste of the soup was really refreshing.
After this meal, we went back to the Nantou bus station and took a bus to Sun Moon Lake.
The cost for one ticket was about 115 TWD if I am not mistaken.
The journey take almost 1 hour....
We just rest and took a short nap, by the time I wake up, I saw this....
Upon arriving at Sun Moon lake, we checked in our hotel and waited for the 'round the lake bus' service.
This bus will take you around the lake to all the attractions.
To save money you can get the daily pass.
Our first stop is WenWu Temple.
Our 2nd stop was the Peacock Garden.. but nothing interesting because non of the peacock stretch their tails..
Next, we went to a place where our stomachs will feel happy, Ida Shao...
This is the place where there is a lot to shop and eat.
Here are some of the food we ate
Something like Yam/carrot cake (this is the best) |
Grilled Pork |
BBQ Mua Chi |
A Sa Mu Red Tea |
Rice in a drumstick |
After filling our stoamch, we waited for the ferry/yacht ride that will take us around the lake and back to the dock near our hotel.
Waiting for the yacht |
